OUT AND ABOUT

A social group for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders. Held every third Saturday 7:00-9:00 PM at Unity Church of Christ. Refreshments are provided.

Out & About is a social gathering of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders providing an opportunity to meet new people. Our purpose is to form a group that will expand to include outings, guest speakers, picnics, and other events. We also hope to include a spiritual tone to the Out & About group. We welcome your ideas. Your presence will help make this "the best place to hang out in NW Indiana" for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

The “Steppers” group is a Twelve Step support group open to all members of Alcoholics Anonymous. The group was started by a Unity member in 1977. Unity Church of Christ has sponsored the group for more than 30 years. Meetings are held on Mondays, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

GREATER HAMMOND COMMUNITY SERVICES (GHCS)

Unity Church of Christ was again asked to participate in its annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive. The enthusiasm and support of donations provided an abundance of food, and sent a loving message of caring and support to those families struggling to meet some of their basic needs.

FOOD PANTRY

We collect nonperishable food items and toiletries year-round, which are donated to the Salvation Army in Munster, Indiana. Our Teen Group also collects blankets and makes lunches for homeless people living in Chicago. If you would like to donate food or toiletries, please drop them off at the church Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
